last night, i'm catching up on my blog reading, when i come across this gem on the sartorialist. then, it hits me. BAM! i need turbans in my life.
thus, begins my internet tangent. i swing through google, spend far too much time bouncing between pinterest and etsy...in the make vs. buy vortex (you know it well).
then, DOUBLE BAM!* fate brought me here. a tutorial so fantastically easy, that couldn't not attempt it immediately. so, i got out of bed... (did i mentioned i was in full-on pajama mode?)
- sacrificial t-shirt
- scissors (or, in my case, a rotary cutter and an olfa cutting mat)
//image c/o hannah of chic little poor girl. try the full tutorial. seriously, you should. //
about 48.239 seconds later** -- i'd produced my first turban.
then, went to bed...for real, this time. the rest of my blog reading would have to wait.
*warning: double 'bams' can be dangerous. please use with caution.
**i lost a little time debating which colored t-shirt to start with, but gained some back by using a rotary cutter. AUTHOR'S NOTE: the figure-8 is more like one full twist. cross, then spin again, before gathering the sides together.
